
KHAIRUL RIZAL ARCHITECT
Khairul Rizal is currently a Senior designer in Ong & Ong Pte Ltd where he leads the design development with client, consultants and contractors for 2 Jurong Region Line Rail Stations designs (Jurong Hill Station and Jurong Pier Station) and a Facility Building.
His team also won the D&B contract for a Cross Island Line Rail Station project CR107. He enjoys the dynamic job scope which includes the preparation for authority submissions, optimizing design layouts and preparation of documents and details for construction stage.
His former experience was with SAA Architects in 2017 as a Senior Architectural Executive where he specialize in transport architecture to design SMRT 8 carriage Cross Island stations as well as rail interchange. The projects range from concept to prelim and tender. Other than MRT projects ,he currently resides with residential and commercial projects like completion of Canberra Plaza and North Point City A&A. He is also involved on healthcare projects like the Woodlands Health Campus.
Back in 2011, Khairul was an architectural associate in Surbana International Consultants where he was involved in HDB public housing from concept design, tender and to construction & project management. This is where he gained experience from the conceptual process to authority submissions and project management. He is also a BIM coordinator for the studio where he assists to manage BIM initiatives and BIM projects.
He was involved in airport feasibility and mixed development projects where he was exposed to the process of design development and gained experience in design. Other specialization involve high rise executive condominiums, aviation projects, flatted industrial projects and landscaping works.
He also participate in setting up the exhibition space for Archi Fest 2012 in collaboration with WY-TO. In the following years, he is involved with the festival presentation for Surbana in conjunction with Archi Fest.
As a student, Khairul was actively involved as a studio representative in NUS where he led the organizing of architectural study trips to Shanghai and Prague. These study trips are concluded with exhibition with the sponsors.
